Every novel has a story behind it, a quiet moment of inspiration, a memory that refuses to fade, or a feeling that demands to be written.
For me, my novels Crowned by Love and Against the Odds were born from two very different places in my heart, yet both share the same truth: love has a way of finding us, even when life seems determined to stand in the way.
Today I want to take you behind the scenes of the inspiration behind these stories and share a glimpse into the emotional world of the characters who captured my imagination.
The Inspiration Behind Crowned by Love
The idea for Crowned by Love lived quietly in my mind for years.
Long before I wrote the first page, long before the characters had names, I had always been drawn to romance stories where love challenges power, status, and expectations.
Like many readers, I grew up fascinated by stories where a prince falls for someone who isn’t part of his world, where love must survive tradition, duty, and the weight of a crown.
That fascination stayed with me for years.
Eventually, those thoughts became Mikaela and Frankie.
Mikaela is a woman who built her life through determination and courage. Frankie carries the responsibility of an entire nation on his shoulders. Their love story isn’t simple, it’s complicated by expectations, secrets, and the pressures of royal life.
But at its core, Crowned by Love asks a timeless question: Can love survive when the world tells you it shouldn’t?

“Did you threaten her scholarship? Her future? Her life—just to keep her away from me?” Frankie demanded, his voice rising.

The Personal Inspiration Behind Against the Odds
If Crowned by Love was born from imagination and years of loving romance stories, Against the Odds came from something much more personal.
The inspiration for this novel came from a real-life experience involving someone very dear to me.
Their story stayed with me, the strength they showed, the struggles they faced, and the resilience they carried through difficult circumstances.
Writing Against the Odds became my way of exploring those emotions and turning them into a story about hope, healing, and unexpected love.
Another special part of writing this book? My husband became my editor.
He read drafts, shared feedback, and helped shape the story into what it is today. That experience made the book even more meaningful for me because it became something we built together.
