Understanding Definitions, Beliefs, and Respect in a Divided Conversation

In recent weeks, one phrase has dominated online discussions, comment sections, and heated debates: “Transwoman is a woman.” As someone who values dialogue, understanding, and respect, I felt compelled to reflect on this issue; not to attack, mock, or invalidate anyone, but to express my personal belief while honoring the humanity of others.

This blog is not written out of hate. It is written out of clarity, conviction, and respect. We can disagree without being disrespectful. We can hold different beliefs and still choose kindness.

What Is a “Woman”? Dictionary and General Definition

According to most dictionaries and commonly accepted definitions, a woman is defined as:

An adult human female, biologically characterized by female reproductive anatomy, including the capacity to conceive, carry, and give birth.

This definition is rooted in biology, not identity, expression, or feeling. It refers to sex, not gender expression or social roles.

What Does the Bible Say About Women?

In the Bible, women are portrayed as life-givers, nurturers, and pillars of strength. From Eve to Mary, from Ruth to Esther, women are described not as weak beings, but as:

  • Bearers of life
  • Carriers of pain and sacrifice
  • Symbols of endurance, compassion, and courage
  • Partners in family, faith, and society

A woman’s body was designed to carry a child for nine months, endure labor, and give birth; an experience that is physically, emotionally, and spiritually transformative. This reality is not symbolic; it is biological and lived.

My Personal Stand (With Respect)

I want to be clear and honest:

  • I respect LGBTQ+ individuals as people
  • I support equality, safety, and dignity for everyone
  • I do not support discrimination, violence, or harassment
  • But I do not believe that a transwoman is a woman

This belief does not erase their humanity. It does not mean they deserve less respect. It simply means we define “woman” differently.

During my years working in public spaces like malls, I encountered many LGBTQ+ individuals; colleagues and customers alike. My approach has always been simple:

  • If someone presents as female, I respectfully say “Ma’am”
  • If someone presents as male, I say “Sir”
  • Not because I am forced to, but because kindness costs nothing

Respect, however, cannot be demanded at the expense of silencing others’ beliefs.

I understand concerns around public comfort and safety. That’s why I personally support gender-neutral or separate comfort rooms, not to exclude, but to protect everyone’s comfort and dignity.

There are realities:

  • Some people feel uncomfortable
  • Some people behave inappropriately
  • Some situations require practical compromise, not ideological pressure

Women are strong; not because they say they are, but because their bodies and lives prove it.

Women:

  • Carry life
  • Endure childbirth
  • Balance emotional labor
  • Hold families together
  • Persist despite pain, loss, and inequality

This strength deserves recognition, not dilution.

We can coexist even when:

  • We don’t share the same definitions
  • We don’t agree on identity
  • We draw boundaries differently

Acknowledging biological reality does not cancel compassion.

We live in a world where many voices want to be heard, and they should be. But respect must be mutual. Understanding must go both ways.

I choose kindness. I choose honesty. And I choose to speak my truth, without dehumanizing anyone else.

“Respect does not require agreement, but it does require honesty, humanity, and the courage to coexist despite our differences.” – Karen Kheaye
